Reform UK is announcing that it is preparing to bring a private prosecution against the two young Manchester men who were involved in that appalling fracas at Manchester airport back in the summer. People will remember the shocking footage. There were two sets of footage and initially what came out were

very very brutal scenes that showed police officers appearing to use quite unjustifiable levels of violence against some young men. What then came out some days later was what had happened in the run-up to that. And we could see from the second set of CCTV footage that in fact it was the young men who had started the trouble,

violently assaulting the police officers. Specifically female police officers, one being punched repeatedly in the face. So one police officer, female police officers, understood to have suffered a broken nose, and at least one officer was hospitalized in the wake of that. Crucially, these armed officers did not use their weapons. They did eventually use tasers to restrain the youths.
